VS by Viviana Scrivner Holiday Pop-Up

December 20th and 21st

Viviana W. Scrivner

I am originally from Asunción, Paraguay, where I earned a degree in Accounting and Business Administration from The Catholic University. I am married to Richard Scrivner, a retired U.S. Army officer, and we are proud parents of two children, Ashley and Alex. Richard’s military career gave our family the opportunity to live in diverse places—including the United States, the Marshall Islands, Korea, and Germany—experiences that have deeply enriched my perspective and creativity.

Driven by a lifelong passion for fashion, design, and creative expression, I founded VS by Viviana Scrivner LLC, a business dedicated to handcrafting elegant home décor and personalized gifts. My collections include chunky knit blankets, seasonal wreaths, custom trays, candles, table accents, and one-of-a-kind decorative pieces designed to bring warmth, sophistication, and personality into the home. I also create holiday collections and themed centerpieces, often drawing inspiration from cultural traditions and the beauty of the seasons.

Beyond my product collections, I host private and group craft workshops, where participants can design and create their own décor while learning new skills in a fun, welcoming environment. Past workshops have included chunky knit pumpkins, decoupage glass plates, and holiday-themed crafts—each designed to encourage creativity, community, and joy.

I believe in living life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity for growth, creativity, and adventure with enthusiasm and positivity. Through my work, I strive to craft meaningful pieces that not only beautify spaces but also inspire connection, celebration, and lasting memories.

After you visit the spectacular show you'll take a journey around our 100 room mansion to search for secret doors, immersive rooms and unique exhibits.   We have over 100 rooms and 80 secret doors (yes 80!). We guarantee you can see at least 60 of our legendary rooms — but be warned secret doors are tricky to find —if you find 2 or 3 you are an above average sleuth.  We will never ruin the surprise of finding a secret door by giving you a map - or showing you where they are. So be sure to keep your eyes open! If you find two secret doors you are an above average sleuth!  Join us on this thrilling journey of discovery!

First Sundays: Gospel

First Sunday: Every Month. Tour: 2pm Signing: 3pm Be ready to be inspired. Come and enjoy! Cash bar.

Featuring The Honorable Charlene Drew Jarvis, his daughter will be talking about her latest collaboration on her book, "Genius Unbroken." Written with Dr. Craig Miller. Dr. Jarvis will also speak about the lessons in leadership that she learned from her father.

Readers will find in "Genius Unbroken" the story of Dr. Charles Drew's seminal and life-saving work while his life offers an enduring lesson in resilience, intellectual triumph, and the transformative power of unwavering determination. Dr. Charles Drew was a pioneering figure in blood banking and transfusion medicine, developing innovative methods for storing blood and blood plasma, leading to the establishment of large-scale blood banks.

Dr. Drew opposed the segregation of blood, both by the Red Cross and the military, policies that were changed because of his influence. Dr. Drew left the Red Cross, not because of it's now-changed policy of blood segregation by race, but because of his original mission, the training of more African American surgeons at the Howard University Medical School.

Andréa Seiger - 111 Places in DC That You Must Not Miss

— Tour: 2:00pm
— Meet The Author: 3:00pm
— Cash Bar

Andréa Seiger is the author of “111 Places in Washington That You Must Not Miss,” an off-the track guidebook for adventuresome visitors, and locals who wish to find new ways to enjoy their own city. She has been in the tourism and meetings industry for 31 years, and has had many uniquely DC opportunities.

She is a road tripping junkie, and is happy to go anywhere on any day, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic. She loves flea markets, auctions, outdoorsy adventures and craft shows anywhere; exploring every place she goes and shopping the local color.

As for DC, she is a total contrarian to the concept that “one never plays tourist in one’s own city.” She is spoiled by the fact that Smithsonian Museums are free and full of wonder. She knows most of DC by landmarks and loves to explore the nooks and crannies of her home town. She keeps a list of places she still needs to go and things she needs to do in the city, as there are always spots and events to explore that one might not yet know.

In her spare time, she maintains her own small business, Urban Safari, which deals in creating special off-the-beaten-path visits to unique and intriguing locations in the US and abroad.

This event is free but reservations are required.
